Citizens Taxation Aid Committee

The Citizens' Taxation Aid Committee is responsible for reviewing and making determinations on all applications for Tax Relief by residents of Tyngsborough. The Committee is made up of representatives from the Tax Collector's Office, the Board of Assessors, the Housing Authority, and citizens at large.

Council on Aging, Associate Member 

The Tyngsborough Council on Aging is a Town board appointed by the Select Board. The mission of the Council is to advocate on behalf of senior citizens, to enhance the quality of their lives through the identification and assessment of their health, economic, social and cultural needs. The term for this position is three years.

Commission on Disability

The Commission on Disability seeks two residents with disabilities to serve on the Commission. The Commission recently expanded their membership from 5 to 7 members. They are seeking new members who are able to provide input from personal experiences as outlined in the Commission on Disability charge.
 
 
The Commission on Disability is tasked with (1) researching local problems of people with disabilities; (2) advising and assisting municipal officials and employees in ensuring compliance with state and federal laws; (3) coordinating and carrying out programs designed to meet the problems of people with disabilities in coordination with programs of the Massachusetts Office on Disability; (4) reviewing and making recommendations about policies, procedures, services, activities, and facilities of departments, boards, and agencies of said city or town as they affect people with disabilities; (5) provide information, referrals, guidance and technical assistance to individuals, public agencies, businesses and organizations in all matters pertaining to disability; and (6) coordinate activities of other local groups organized for similar purposes.
