Latex/ Acrylic Paint
Latex paint is not hazardous and can be dried up and disposed of in trash. Latex paint is a water-based paint meaning that it can be cleaned up with water. Paint that can be washed with soap and water is not hazardous.
Let it dry out in the sun (if it is mostly empty) or by using kitty litter or paint hardener if it contains more paint. Once it dries out, you may discard it in the trash. You may purchase a latex paint hardener at some local home improvement, paint, or hardware stores. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Oil Based Paint
Can be disposed of during the annual hazardous waste day.
