Tyngsborough Schedules Two (2) Rapid Test Distribution Events
Tyngsborough, Massachusetts– At a duly posted meeting held on Monday, January 10, 2022, the Tyngsborough Board of Selectmen voted unanimously to approve the purchase of 5,000 at-home COVID-19 rapid tests. These tests were purchased cooperatively with the Towns of Dracut and Methuen through state contracts procured by the Baker Administration. The tests will be made available at no charge to Tyngsborough residents.
Residents may obtain two test kits (four tests) per household at one of two distribution events. Details are below:
Sunday, January 30th 2022 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Tyngsborough Elementary (Drive Through)
Wednesday, February 2, 2022 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the Community Room at Town Hall
(25 Bryant Lane, Tyngsborough MA 01879) *
These events are open to Tyngsborough residents only. Proof of residency will be required. Limit 2 kits (four tests) per household, no exceptions.
Additionally, the Town will be distributing two kits to each resident at Brinley Terrace (senior housing) and will host a seniors-only event at the Council on Aging on Thursday, February 3rd from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This time slot will be reserved for Tyngsborough seniors and tests will be available (2 kits per household) to Tyngsborough residents only. Tests have already been reserved for these options.
Finally, the Town of Tyngsborough will make home-delivery an option for homebound residents. Residents who receive meals on wheels will automatically be added to our list. If you, or someone you know, might benefit from home delivery, please contact the Board of Health at 978-649-2300 x118. The two-test kit (four tests) per household rule applies to all households regardless of the delivery method.
Please remember that residents are also eligible to apply for at-home rapid tests to be mailed to them directly through the federal government. Learn more at covidtests.gov.
*The February 2, 2022 event will only take place if tests remain. If all tests have been distributed, the February 2 event will be cancelled.
