Did you know we’re already in year 5 of the US Environmental Protection Agency’s NPDES MS4 permit which requires compliance with certain standards relative to proper discharge of stormwater. As a part of our efforts, we’ve contracted with Tighe and Bond to help using a sizeable grant from the Massachusetts Clean Water Trust.
We’re working to build our GIS mapping & condition assessment of the Town-wide drainage system. This will ultimately help us prioritize capital improvement projects relative to stormwater. To that end, you may notice our team out and about throughout town inspecting and cataloging various stormwater features including manholes, culverts, and catch basins. These efforts will allow us to remain in compliance, avoid fines, and ensure that Tyngsborough’s natural waterways remain clean and beautiful.
