Earlier this month, the Town of Tyngsborough was notified by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts that it was awarded $135,173.00 through the Shared Winter Streets and Spaces Program for accessibility and landscaping improvements at the Old Town Hall.
This funding will be utilized to conduct a full remodel of the current park that sits next to the Old Town Hall and is connected to the First Parish Meeting House by the new footbridge. The revitalized space will include landscaping upgrades, seating areas, accessible walkways, the replacement of the existing gazebo, and expanded room for safe outdoor programming. The addition of the new walkways will connect the historic Littlefield Library with the Old Town Hall, First Parish Meeting House, and two restaurants that are currently being constructed with ADA compliant sidewalks, supporting commerce in our community. This project builds upon progress made over the last couple of years using a mix of Town funds and Complete Streets funding. The project is anticipated to be complete by June 1.
The grant application was a joint effort by the Engineering and Administration Department.
