Pelham – The New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services has notified Tyngsborough officials that a cyanobacteria bloom was observed on Long Pond on the Pelham side. Lake-goers should be on the lookout for changing conditions and avoid contact with cyanobacteria. This warning is especially relevant near the shores of the lake.
Advisories are issued once samples are collected and cell concentrations of cyanobacteria are confirmed to exceed 70,000 cells/ml of lake water. Pet owners are advised to keep their pets away from cyanobacteria blooms.
