Today's ceremony honored Tyngsborough native Jeremy C. Lundgren who retired from the United Sates Air Force as a Master Sergeant after 11 years of service and most recently served as a Fire Captain at Dover Air Force Base. Captain Lundgren died in the line of duty on March 31, 2023.

Upon graduating Tyngsborough High School in 2009, Captain Lundgren joined the United States Air Force where he served in the fire service and spent three years as an Airman Leadership School Instructor. Captain Lundgren was deployed twice to the Middle East and once to South Korea. During his decorated military career, Captain Lundgren received numerous awards and medals, including a Meritorious Service Medal and three Air Force Commendation Medals.

After honorably completing his military service, Captain Lundgren continued to serve his community, this time as a civilian firefighter at Dover Air Force Base. In this phase of his career of service, Captain Lundgren served as a Station Chief and a Fire Inspector.

Captain Lundgren leaves behind two children and a deeply loving family who still have roots here in Tyngsborough. Station 1 was packed this morning with members of his family, friends, town officials, and other members of our community who were moved by Captain Lundgren's service.
