Remote Participation Update – July 20, 2022

On July 16, 2022, Lt. Governor Karyn Polito signed into law an act extending the remote meeting provisions of the March 12, 2020, Executive Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law. This extension allows municipal boards & committees to conduct meetings remotely so long as reasonable access is provided to members of the public. Tyngsborough’s remote meeting policy allows for any member of the public to participate actively in all meetings. Residents are not able to share screen or share video, these measures are intended to provide “zoom bombing” or other disruptive activity. While Tyngsborough has returned to in-person meetings, some remote meetings may still take place as necessary. Where a meeting is occuring in person, there will be no remote meeting access for participation.

When a remote meeting is scheduled, it will clearly be marked as such in the meeting agenda. Zoom Meeting connection details will be posted in the calendar events below for each meeting that includes remote participation. If you are on a board or committee and have questions about how this will work, please reach out to Administration or IT.

If you are a member of the public, you can connect using your computer or dial in with the numbers provided in the meeting. Should you wish to participate with a question or comment, please use the chat feature if you are connected via computer or press *9 to raise your hand if connected only via phone.

Questions about participating in a remote meeting can be directed to Town Administration by phone 978-649-2300 x100 or email to [email protected].
