Select Board rates Town Manager Colin Loiselle's performance "Excellent" in his first performance review.

As required by the Town Manager Special Act, and in accordance with his contract, the Select Board conducted the Fiscal Year 2024 Annual Performance Review of Town Manager Colin Loiselle on Monday, May 13, 2024. The review is a look back at the Town Manager's performance over the last fiscal year with a special focus on the goals set by the Select Board. This first review was for an abbreviated period as Mr. Loiselle was not appointed Town Manager until September 2023. The review covers Fiscal Year 2024 which runs from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024.

Key take aways from the Board's review include:

  • Increased communication & transparency
  • Emphasis on financial planning & budgeting
  • Creating efficiencies & enhanced service delivery
  • Ensuring the day to day operations meet the needs of the community

In his summary of the evaluation, Select Board Chair Eric Eldridge remarked "Colin is meticulous, diligent and has the personality necessary to excel in his role as Town Manager".

The review includes a first step self-evaluation completed by the Town Manager which reflects on the work of the Town in the last fiscal year, identifies key accomplishments and challenges solved, and reflects on the goals set at the start of the fiscal year by the Select Board. That self-evaluation is reviewed by the entire Select Board and then each member has the opportunity to provide their own feedback to the Select Board Chair. At the conclusion of this process, the Board discusses the totality of the review in a public meeting and votes to rate the performance and accept the review. At their meeting on May 13, the Board voted unanimously to rate Mr. Loiselle's performance "excellent".

Town Manager Colin Loiselle noted "I am appreciative of the Board's support and the opportunity to continue to serve Tyngsborough. While this evaluation focused on my performance, it is important to note that our accomplishments here in Tyngsborough are a collective effort of our dedicated staff and volunteers who make it all happen. I am excited about what is in store for Tyngsborough and look forward to being able to continue to play a role in our shared success."
