Our Mission Statement

As a sub-committee of Tyngsborough Conservation Commission, the mission of the Tyngsborough Trails Committee is to ensure town conservation properties are maintained in a natural and ecologically healthy state and to provide recreational and educational use of these lands to our township.


Goals:
Maintain trails, signage and resource materials.

a. Keep website up to date.

b. Keep trail maps current and available in kiosks.

c. Provide information to the public at book fairs and other venues.

d. Organize trail maintenance.

e. Develop new trails as needed.

Develop and maintain the Sherburne Nature Center.

a. Maintain the house.

b. Develop exhibits.

c. Monitor the grounds.

d. Handle finances-wetland fund, donations, town budget.

To monitor properties and recommend corrective actions to Conservation Commission.

a. Visit each property quarterly.

b. Walk trails in each property regularly.

c.  Attend Conservation Committee meetings to report progress.

To provide educational experiences.

a. Offer seasonal programs such as nature walks, Earth Day celebration , and bird walks.

b. Provide resource materials , kiosks, trail maps and have booth at the town book fair.

The Tyngsborough Trails Committee is always looking for volunteers, we meet the first Saturday of the month at the Sherburne Nature Center 9 AM.
