At its meeting on Monday, May 11, 2020, the Tyngsborough Board of Selectmen voted to delay the Annual Town Meeting until a date to be determined in July. This decision was made in consultation with public health experts and in the interest of adhering to existing rules limiting large gatherings. The Board will continue to monitor existing public health guidance and orders from the Governor until such a point where they can confidently schedule the Annual Town Meeting.
The Board of Selectmen also voted to set the Annual Town Election for June 30, 2020 at the recommendation of Town Clerk Joanne Shifres. This is the latest date possible under existing laws which authorized municipalities to delay previously scheduled elections. The deadline to register to vote is June 20, 2020. While early in-person voting will not be allowed in the upcoming municipal election, the Secretary of State has provided the following form to allow early mail-in voting for municipal elections.
We have been advised by the Secretary of State that you must physically sign and return your ballot application.
