On Tuesday, September 11th at approximately 9:00 AM, the rehabilitated Tyngsborough Bridge carrying Routes 113/3A over the Merrimack River and Railroad will be reopened to traffic. Traffic will be controlled by police details for approximately three hours while the contractor completes some necessary traffic signal modifications.
Following the reopening of the bridge, the contractor will commence work associated with the removal of the temporary bridge that has been used to carry traffic across the river since November 2005. Following its removal, the contractor will complete the remaining roadway reconstruction associated with the $19 million project. Overall completion of the project is expected to occur in spring 2013. The project compliments and is located directly adjacent to the $5.3 million relocation of Pawtucket Boulevard.
