Merrimack River to be lowered by Boott Hydropower

From Boot Hydropower, Inc:

The Merrimack River upstream of the Pawtucket Dam (Lowell Hydroelectric Project impoundment) will be lowered through the weekend to complete flashboard maintenance next week. Our previously scheduled flashboard maintenance for the week of July 22, 2013 was delayed due to high river flows. The target head pond elevation is approximately dam crest level (or five feet below normal level), which should be achieved by the morning of Monday August 5th, 2013. The impoundment will be held at this level for approximately five days after which head pond refill to normal levels will begin. Planned work, head pond elevation and schedules are dependent upon prevailing weather and river conditions. If you have any questions or need additional information regarding this impoundment draw, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely yours,

BOOTT HYDROPOWER, INC.
