June 11, 2019- The Board of Selectmen Establish Sustainability Committee

At a public meeting held on Monday, June 10, 2019, the Board of Selectmen formally adopted a Sustainability Committee at the request of Town residents.

The Sustainability Committee will be tasked with (a) supporting efforts to reduce contamination in the current recycling program and reduce future costs through the consideration of new programs and public outreach, (b) working with town departments to support recycling initiatives at public events and buildings, (c) assisting the Conservation Commission with public engagement and awareness regarding storm water management, and (d) serving as a resource for both town residents and businesses in the areas of improving and implementing waste reduction and energy saving initiatives.

This is a volunteer committee that will consist of 5-7 members, all appointed by the Board of Selectmen. Residents interested in serving on this new Committee should submit a brief letter of interest to the Board of Selectmen, Attention Colin Loiselle via email [email protected] or mail, 25 Bryants Lane Tyngsborough, MA 01879. The Board will consider appointments to this Committee at their meeting on Monday, June 24, 2019.
