2019 Senior Tax Work-Off Program

The Town of Tyngsborough is pleased to announce the start of the 2019 Senior Tax Work Off Program. This program assists qualifying Tyngsborough seniors in paying their property tax bills by drawing on their expertise and skills through employment in one of many town departments. This program has been tremendously successful in the past and the number of applicants increases every year. Included in this post, you will find the complete application, descriptions of available jobs, and the rules of the program. All of these documents are also available in hard copy in the Board of Selectmen’s Office, Board of Assessor’s Office (25 Bryant’s Lane) or at the Council on Aging (169 Westford Road).

Applications are due back to the Assessor’s Office at 25 Bryants Lane no later than October 1, 2018. The Board of Selectmen will conduct interviews the first week of October and will appoint participants on October 15, 2018.

Please note that the application has been modified this year to included changes to the program adopted by the Board of Selectmen on Monday, August 20, 2018. The Selectmen approved a priority designation for seniors who show a financial hardship. These candidates will be considered first, and all other candidates will be considered only after the priority applications have been reviewed.

All questions should be directed to Colin Loiselle in the Board of Selectmen’s Office by calling 978-743-5339 or emailing cloiselle@tyngsboroughma.gov.¬†
